Contemporary by definition means “existing, occurring, or living at the same time; belonging to the same time.” This applies perfectly to contemporary interior design. The term actually can incorporate “trendy” design, in addition to modern. Contemporary design can be very eclectic because it borrows pieces and styles from different eras and is ever-changing.  Far from consisting simply of newly designed elements of “right now” shapes and forms from modernism, art deco, and industrialization can also find its way into this type of design.
